Disney Treasure Cruise Style: What I Wore and How to Pack
Step into the stunning Grand Hall of the Disney Treasure, where adventure begins the moment you board!
In January, we set sail on one of the first inaugural sailings of the Disney Treasure, making this voyage even more unforgettable. It was a family celebration, marking a milestone birthday, a special getaway, and an adventure on a brand-new ship. The Treasure is all about adventure and discovery, making this cruise feel like more than just a trip—it was a chance to make incredible memories in a place filled with storytelling, fun, and that signature Disney magic.
Packing for a Disney Cruise is more than just stuffing a suitcase—it's another way to bring the magic to life! Choosing outfits that fit each setting makes the experience even more immersive—whether you’re dressing up for a themed dinner, exploring the ship, or snapping that perfect vacation photo. It’s all part of the fun, adding an extra layer of excitement to an already incredible trip. Whether you’re dressing for themed dining nights, tropical excursions, or casual days at sea, here’s the ultimate guide to what to wear on the Disney Treasure, featuring outfit inspiration, packing tips, and where to shop for unique Disney fashion.
The Magic of the Disney Treasure
The Disney Treasure debuted in December, bringing a new sense of adventure to the Disney Cruise Line fleet. While its sister ship, the Disney Wish, leans into the fairytale aesthetic, the Treasure embraces explorers, daring journeys, and legendary tales, drawing inspiration from films like Aladdin, Indiana Jones, Coco, and The Lion King.
From the moment you step onboard, the Grand Hall—the ship’s stunning atrium—immerses you in this world of adventure.
Being on One of the First Sailings
We sailed on the sixth sailing of the Disney Treasure. Everything felt brand new, sparkling, and undiscovered—not just for us but for the countless Disney Cruise Line fans at home, eagerly following along. There’s a certain energy in the air on inaugural (or near-inaugural) cruises: the cast and crew are brimming with excitement to show off new features, and guests can’t wait to uncover every corner of the ship. It made the entire cruise feel like an adventure we were all experiencing together for the first time.
Setting sail from Port Canaveral, where the excitement starts long before you board!
The Fun of Themed Fashion
For all of us, the lead-up is half the fun—especially if you’re a packing nerd like me! Planning themed outfits for a Disney Cruise is its own special kind of magic. Whether you’re aiming for elegant formalwear, casual daytime Disney tees, or full-on DisneyBounding, it’s a chance to embrace creativity and tailor your style to each unique onboard experience.
As magical as it is, packing posed a few challenges for us on this particular sailing:
We traveled from frigid New York winter to chilly Orlando and then on to sunny Caribbean ports. Multiple climates = more layers and clothing variety!
On the Disney Treasure, you rotate through three stunning themed restaurants, each visited twice (one even three times if you count Pirate Night). Plus, there’s embarkation day, days in port, themed lounges, and more.
I have two small kids, so I coordinated their outfits too—though that’s a separate story for another post!
Between the new ship’s offerings and the variety of climates, I knew I had to be strategic about my packing list.
Out of both laziness to hit the stores and lack of time, I relied on online shopping for my Disney Treasure cruise outfits. I found everything on Amazon and Etsy—because when in doubt, Prime shipping and handmade magic always come through! If you’re wondering what to pack for your Disney Treasure cruise, here’s a look at what I wore and where you can find the pieces to recreate these looks.
In this post, I’ll break down what I wore for key moments—from casual exploration to themed dining venues—and hopefully spark ideas for your future Disney Treasure sailings (including my own next trip in August 2025!).
Embarkation Day – Classic & Comfortable Disney Style
Port Canaveral’s Disney terminal is where the magic truly begins! From check-in to boarding, every moment is filled with excitement.
Setting the Mood
Setting sail from Port Canaveral, the magic and photo opportunities start before you even board! Disney has its own dedicated cruise terminal, which means themed photo ops begin the moment you arrive.
Whether it’s capturing that pre-cruise family shot outside the terminal, posing in front of a larger-than-life Disney Cruise Line backdrop, or even snapping a picture as you step onto the ship’s gangway, these moments are ripe for keepsakes. Many of these photos will be available for purchase onboard or as part of your Disney Cruise Line photo package, so don’t miss out on these early memory-making opportunities!
Embarkation day is all about pure excitement—you’re stepping onto the ship for the first time, snapping those must-have atrium photos, and exploring every deck with childlike wonder. It’s a long day of travel, check-in, and boarding, so comfort is key—but you still want to look great for all the photo ops.
Weather Check: Orlando in the winter months can be surprisingly cool, so I wanted an outfit that was comfortable and layered enough to handle a brisk morning but still worked once I was indoors.
Embarkation day outfit essentials—for him and for her!
What I Wore:
Disney Treasure Sweatshirt (Etsy) – I wanted something unique and customized specifically for the Treasure, and Etsy is such a great place to find the perfect custom items. It was perfect for cooler mornings in Orlando and made for those iconic atrium photos. (Etsy Link)
Comfy Platform Sneakers – Walking deck to deck, standing in line for kids' clubs previews, and running up to get that first ice cream cone meant comfortable shoes were a must. (Converse Link)
Disney Bomber Jacket – Light enough to carry but warm enough for that first breezy sail-away moment. I bought mine during the WDW 50th Anniversary celebration but you can find similar on small Poshmark and Ebay sites like this.
➡ Pro Tip: Consider wearing a coordinated but casual family outfit—a great photo op moment before everyone changes into swimwear or dinner attire.

Plaza de Coco – A Vibrant Fiesta
Step into the world of Coco at Plaza de Coco, where music, storytelling, and vibrant décor bring the movie to life.
Setting the Mood
Plaza de Coco is one of the most immersive dining experiences aboard the Disney Treasure, bringing the world of Disney Pixar’s Coco to life through storytelling, music, and food. The space is adorned with rich wood accents, papel picado banners, and glowing lanterns, evoking the warmth and tradition of Día de los Muertos. The music is soft and nostalgic, setting the stage for an evening full of heartfelt storytelling.
Guests will dine here at least two times—each night offering a different experience.
The first night is a warm and intimate gathering, where you dine with Miguel’s family, enjoying traditional dishes in a setting reminiscent of Ernesto de la Cruz’s grand hacienda.
On your second night at Plaza de Coco, the restaurant transforms into a celebratory event, complete with live performances and a visit from Coco himself!

Step into Hollywood’s golden era at 1923, a restaurant that pays tribute to Disney’s early animation history.
1923 is a tribute to Walt Disney’s early days in Hollywood, immersing guests in a world of elegance, history, and nostalgia. Named after the year The Walt Disney Company was founded, this restaurant transports you to the Golden Age of Animation, with walls adorned in vintage concept art, original sketches from classic animated films, and subtle art deco details. The warm, subdued lighting and refined furnishings give it an intimate, old-Hollywood feel—making it one of the most sophisticated dining spots on the Disney Treasure.
If you love an opportunity to dress to the nines, this is the perfect place to do it! We saw many guests go all out with their outfits, fully embracing the 1920s flapper aesthetic with beaded gowns, feathered headbands, and vintage-inspired accessories.
✔️ What Inspired My Outfits – The elegance of 1923 and its tribute to Walt Disney’s early Hollywood days called for a look that was simple, classic, and sophisticated. Inspired by the Golden Age of Animation, I wanted an outfit that reflected the refined glamour of the era without feeling overdone. The Ultimate Pirate Party at Sea
If there’s one night on a Disney Cruise where people truly go all out, it’s Pirate Night. This is more than just a themed dinner—it’s a full-ship transformation into a swashbuckling adventure. From the moment the sun sets, the decks are buzzing with excitement as guests—both kids and adults—dress in their best pirate gear. Some keep it simple with a bandana and an eyepatch, while others go all in with elaborate coats, corseted gowns, and full Jack Sparrow-worthy ensembles.
On the Disney Treasure, Pirate Night brings an energy unlike any other night on board. Themed activities, character appearances in pirate attire, and an interactive deck show all build up to one of the cruise’s biggest highlights—fireworks at sea! Watching fireworks explode over the open ocean, surrounded by fellow pirates, makes for a night you won’t forget.

The Haunted Mansion Parlor – Spooky Chic
Step inside the Haunted Mansion Parlor, a ghostly lounge inspired by Disney’s iconic attraction.
The Haunted Mansion Parlor is hands down one of the coolest bars on any Disney Cruise ship—just one more experience that makes the Disney Treasure feel extra special. This isn't just a bar with a spooky theme; it's a fully immersive tribute to the Haunted Mansion attraction, packed with nods to its eerie charm in every corner. For all the times Haunted Mansion fans have ridden the Doom Buggies and wished they could actually step inside and explore Gracie Manor, this is that moment—except with themed cocktails in hand.

Final Thoughts & Packing Tips
Enjoying views of the beautiful Disney Treasure from Grand Cayman.
Whether you’re going for full DisneyBounding or just sprinkling in subtle nods to your favorite characters, dressing up on the Disney Treasure adds a magical layer to your vacation. It’s a chance to immerse yourself in each restaurant’s story and connect with other guests who are just as excited about Disney details as you are.
Here are a few takeaways and tips from my experience:
Plan Ahead — Creating an outfit list before you sail helps you avoid overpacking or forgetting key items.
Mind the Climate Changes — Layering is crucial if you’re traveling from a cold climate to a hot one. Don’t forget a light jacket or cardigan for breezy evenings on deck.
Comfort is Key — Choose shoes you can walk in for hours. You’ll be exploring the ship, waiting in lines for character meets, and dancing at deck parties. If you’re wearing heels, pack flats in your bag just in case.
Amazon & Etsy Are Your Friends — You can find last-minute items with Prime shipping or custom, handmade pieces from Etsy to make your look one-of-a-kind. Don’t wait until the week before you sail to order; shipping delays happen.
Coordinate with Your Travel Party! — If traveling with family or friends, it can be fun to do group themes—matching T-shirts for embarkation day, or each person bounding as a different Marvel character.
Be Flexible — Even with careful planning, you might want to swap outfits if the weather changes or if you find new inspiration onboard. Embrace the spontaneity; it’s part of the fun.
The best part of a Disney Cruise? The memories made along the way—complete with fun outfits for every occasion!
Would I Theme My Outfits Again?
Absolutely! Dressing up for each restaurant and lounge turned out to be one of the highlights of my trip, making every dinner feel like an experience rather than just a meal. Next time, I’m already plotting more vintage flair for 1923 and maybe an even more elaborate pirate ensemble!
